How to sharpen an image
Credits are per run. Keep the picture preserves every detail as-is; Fix a blurry photo rebuilds fine detail and stops at 4K.
| 2K | 4K | 8K | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Keep the picture | 1 credit | 2 credits | 3 credits |
| Fix a blurry photo | 1 credit | 2 credits | — |
| Print size at 300 DPI (square) | ≈ 17.3 cm | ≈ 34.7 cm | ≈ 69.4 cm |
| Typical use | Small prints | Posters | Large-format walls |
Keep the picture holds the composition and adds pixels. Fix a blurry photo can change fine lines, because it reconstructs detail that was not there.
Those two options stop at 4K. Use Keep the picture when you need 8K.
2K is 1 credit, 4K is 2, and 8K is 3. You see the cost before you run. A failed run returns the credits.
No. Upscaling keeps the shape and multiplies the pixels, so the image gets sharper at the same proportions. Resizing changes the shape and size — that is Print Resize.
The pixels go up, so the same print size gets more pixels per inch. If you need the DPI label written into the file, Increase DPI does that in one step.
At 300 DPI, a 4K result prints about 34.7 × 34.7 cm and an 8K result about 69.4 × 69.4 cm for a square image. Longer shapes give longer prints.
Photos, artwork and scans between roughly 500 and 4096 pixels on the long side. Very tiny images have too little detail to rebuild in one pass.
