Upload a flat pattern
The join is redrawn so the edges meet when it repeats.
JPG, PNG, or WebP, up to 10 MB. No transparent background, and no watermark or empty margin on the edge.
All four edges, left and right, or top and bottom. Then pick how wide the join is and whether to add more pattern around it.
The preview is a smaller copy. Download saves the full PNG.
How to make a pattern repeat
Both make edges meet — they differ in what the repeat looks like when printed.
| Seam joining (this tool) | Mirroring (free editors) | |
|---|---|---|
| How edges meet | Join redrawn so opposite edges continue | Image folded onto itself |
| Motif in the repeat | As drawn — no reflections | Mirrored every other tile |
| Suitable for print | Yes — production tiles | Rarely — symmetric units betray the repeat |
| Directional patterns (stripes, text, faces) | Keep their direction | Flip direction each repeat |
No. The pattern stays as drawn. Only the join is redrawn so the edges meet.
A pattern that is already laid out flat. Edges with a watermark or a big empty margin will show up in the repeat.
The credit cost is on the button before you run. It depends on 1K, 2K, or 4K. A failed run returns the credits.
Open the Pattern Checker and tile the result. Zoom into the edges between repeats.
Every edge meets its opposite: what leaves the right side returns on the left at the same height, and top matches bottom. This tool redraws the joins so that rule holds on all four sides.
Mirroring folds the image so edges match, but every repeat becomes a symmetric kaleidoscope unit — the motif reads left-right-left. Seam joining keeps the motif drawn exactly as it is and rebuilds only the strip where edges meet.
1K is fine for web mockups and previews. 2K covers most fabric and wallpaper repeats. Pick 4K when the tile will print large — the tool shows the credit cost for each before you run.
Print-on-demand fabrics, wallpaper, wrapping paper, apparel and home décor all print from repeating tiles. A clean four-side join is what makes one tile print across any run length.
