How to check if a pattern is seamless
Tile your image across a large canvas and zoom into the boundaries between repeats. If edges match and no line is visible, the pattern is seamless. This checker does exactly that in your browser.
No. The checker runs entirely in your browser — your image never leaves your device.
Three things. A thin line or color jump where two tiles meet. A motif sliced in half at the edge. And the grid effect — one standout flower or dark patch repeating in an obvious rhythm. Zoom out to spot the grid; zoom in up to 16× to see the seam itself.
The seam is fine; the tile is uneven. A bright corner, a shadow or one oversized motif repeats every tile, and the eye picks up the rhythm. Even out the lighting or crop away the standout spot before making the tile.
Run it through the Pattern Generator. It joins the edges you choose, and the credit cost is on the button. Then drop the result back in here to confirm.
Check the pixels against the repeat size. A 30 cm repeat at 150 DPI needs about 1,770 px per side; at 300 DPI, about 3,540 px. A smaller tile will look soft at that size.
